The BMW 730d sets a new benchmark in terms of drivetrain performance. The new all-aluminium 3.0-litre straight-six cylinder diesel engine produces 245hp at 4,000rpm.
However, a major facelift in 2005 toned down the shape. The all-new BMW 7 Series, the F01, reached Australia in March 2009 carried a far more sedate shape. BMW's complex iDrive system was intended to operate hundreds of functions, with the intention of doing away with virtually every button or switch.
The 730d was tipped to be the big seller and lots were supplied new to airport hire firms. As a consequence there are lots of mega-mileage examples – think 300,000-miles – but that’s not a problem for a well-maintained example. The 730d had a single exhaust tailpipe on launch cars and the engine is the N57 D30.A bad fuel pump, fuel injector, or a break in the fuel line can also make your BMW not start. When there's a vital and hot spark when you crank your BMW car engine, but your vehicle doesn't start, examine the fuel because the problem may be a bad fuel pump. Use a pressure gauge to check for pressure in the line. Connect it to the fuel rail.
